August 2010
August was another busy month for most of my clients, I managed to grab a week away at the European Amateur Champs followed by a family holiday in Finland.
Attended a couple of great conferencesalso in August with the Stack and Tilt founders and also a great green reading clinic with the Aimpoint guys.
As for my elite clients James Whatley has had a solid year on the national stage following up his runner up spot at the Welsh PGA with a 3rd place at the English PGA, James however had his first MC of the year at the British Club Pros, which has forced us into a re-think in a couple of areas. Ian Walley has continued to play solid golf on the pro am circuit and notched up a few top 10's in order of merit events. James Stafford is having a great year in only his 2nd as a pro, currently leading the Derbyshire Assistants order of merit and 2nd in the Pros.

Steve Astle Golf Consultancy based in Derby England, specialises in golf coaching and performance programmes for elite juniors/amateurs and professionals. Based at East Midlands Golf Academy @ Morley Hayes and Ashbourne Golf Club.
I have been a fully qualified PGA Professional since 2001, and began my coaching career in 1998 graduating as the Titleist Scholarship Award Winner and one of the Top trainees of the Year. I am now a full time Instructor who works with Tour Professionals right through to complete beginners. I have also been selected by the PGA to train fellow professionals in the PGA UKCC Level 1 & 2 coaching awards. I am also Coach for Derbyshire 1st Team & Under 18's &16's
I combine my coaching duties with being a Swing Tutor/Marker for the PGA and I'm also a lead coach for the new Performance Golf Academy at Derby College. In May 2009 I was awarded my Advanced PGA status for commitment to continued development of skills and knowledge. I'm also an Elite Instructor for Todays Golfer Magazine.
SA Golf Projects
In conjunction with emga we are establishing a school of excellence for 13-16 year olds with potential to make a career out of the game or maximise their potential. This course will run through out the year and total 80 hours of coaching on a 5:1 max ratio coach to pupils. Call for further details.
